(August 2009) For this project we chose the human heart as a guiding theme, that and the black, white and red colour scheme were the only limitations we set for ourselves. We then each went our separate ways to create the content of this piece. We came back together a week later to mash it all together into the chaotic eye candy you see before you. Encompassing a wide range of styles and techniques ranging from hand drawn to complex particle systems, Tales from the Heart is a wild ride through the body, the gutter and the cosmos.

Eine Kugel mit vier Rädern, Scheibenwischern, Frontleuchten und Motor. Was auch immer dieses… ja, Dingens sein soll, ich finde es grossartig. Erinnert mich stark an eines dieser Fahrzeuge, mit dem das Sandmännchen immer kam.

Für Craig Fergusons Late Nightshow hat Mythbuster Grant Imahara einen Robot Skeleton Sidekick gebaut, der auf Knopfdruck schlaue Weisheiten von sich gibt und mich doch gerade irgendwie an Raabs Knopfleiste erinnert, nur hier ist es wie es sich gehört ein Skelett und nicht ein dämlich grinsender Moderator…

This video is a part of my exploration in using wide lenses for video on the Canon 5D Mark ii. The majority of shots in this piece were shot on a 17-40mmL Canon lens. As you can see in the weeds, the DSLR does NOT like fine details. Aliasing is everywhere. It hides behind compression on the web, but the original h.264 files.
Biggest lesson learned: anything close to the camera (5-10 feet, with a few exceptions) is usually excellent shooting material, anything further needs to carefully considered and probably shot on a different camera.

Seit dem Jahre 2007 wird Dir hier ein cooler Weblog-Mix aus Musik, Movies, Comics, Horror, Games, Kunst, Radio, Trash, Punk und Heavy Metal geboten – genau so wie es sein soll! Denn glaube mir, nichts ist trivial.
Dass das Betreiben von dravenstales.ch mit erheblichem Zeitaufwand und auch einigen Kosten verbunden ist, dürfte klar sein. Damit Kosten und vielleicht noch ein, zwei Freigetränke gedeckt sind, könnte ich den ganzen Laden hier mit Werbung vollkleistern.
