Let's be honest, plague and cholera were available in this election, neither is one nor the other really better. Clinton would never have stood a chance against any other Republican candidate, and Trump would probably never have stood a chance against any other Democrat. This is reflected solely in the fact that these two were the least popular candidates in US&A history.
I was told that plague would kill you and cholera would have a slim chance of survival. Say it doesn't really matter who won. They're just puppets anyway with a face that interests that really mighty ones, of the new nobility represented. It couldn't get much worse - one thought already with George W. Bush and as we have known since at least yesterday, it got worse and will get worse. We have interesting times ahead ... and not because of these spineless politicians, but how people will deal with all of this.
Neoliberal politics will be enforced by the ruling class and people will suffer as a result. Protest doesn't work by voting, but through mobility and action. What we experience is crippling indifference paired with egoism. Every people has the government it deserves, as the French writer, diplomat, philosopher of state and history, Joseph Marie de Maistre already knew. Maybe this will be an opportunity for a few people to break out of their filter bubble and sharpen their focus on reality again. It is about time - and maybe President Trump can do just that ...
