Dear friends of the crypt, have you been bored of the eternally cuddly plush dialect sound with a lot of heartache, lard and Hudigägeler? Do you finally want dialect with power? Do you want fat metal riffs based on Killswitch Engage, Slipknot or Pantera, which meet rhymes, vocal lines and screaming attacks in the broadest Bern German? Something like that doesn't work, or can't sound good at all? Typical case of Denkste, HAK show polo where God rocks! Watch out, Mommy and Papi as the air goes!
Last Friday I had the pleasure of the Bernese Dialect Band HAK finally to see it live and what can I say, the guys are absolutely convincing! It went off like a rocket! Brilliant! Who shouldn't know the boys yet, here is the biography, quoted by Swiss Music Portal:
Whoever has missed hard sounds in the dialect scene until now, can be happy! here is HAK, definitely the toughest band in the swiss dialect circus.
hak (bandleader, singer / shouter) had the idea for berner mundartmetal. together with dänu and räffu (both guitar), shady (drums) and cami (bass), he challenges the audience to the “dürä dräiä”.
Bern German music of this kind has never existed before. fat metal riffs in the style of killswitch engage, slipknot or pantera meet rhymes, vocal lines and screaming attacks in the broadest Bern German. HAK always moves on a high musical level. the band from Bern knows how to let their role models flow into their own style without degenerating into plagiarism.
in 2006 the debut album “dräiät dürä” (kunz soundcorp.) appears. the title says it all; uncompromising and hard the music, provocative the lyrics.
with various gigs in 2007/2008 the band was able to reach numerous listeners of hard music and carry their music beyond the cantons.
In spring 2009 the band went to the studio to record the second HAK record. the mundart-metaller will release their second album "wachät uf" on September 25.09.2009th, XNUMX
tek the machine (draven) and stefan schroff (NEMP studio) assisted in the production.
By the way, dear friends of the crypt, the Tek the Machine mentioned in the bio comes from the band trot and this has nothing in common with the crypt, but I would like to mention the guys here because their sound is also absolutely worth listening to. But let's stay with it now HAK!
As already mentioned, the guys went off like rockets and were absolutely able to carry you away with their sound! The high musical level mentioned in the bio is not just an empty phrase, the Bernese band is strongly reminiscent of their role models and yet knows how to convey their absolutely own, unmistakable style. With songs like “Wachät uf”, “Revolution”, “Figg di”, “Das isch noch mir glich”, “Vertrouä” and “Dräiät dürä”, the Bernese bring the club to a boil and also make the last ones tremble! Yeah! Ouch horny Siecha! By the way, as an old Thrasher, the band reminds me a bit of the young Pantera, and not as a cheap imitation, on the contrary, with their own style. When I write this, I mean it quite seriously, because I adore Pantera endlessly and with HAK I still see an animal potential that this combo could create unforgettable anthems like their role models. In any case, the current sound mercilessly grinds its way into the auditory canals! Who knows, everything is possible and maybe the Giele will be kissed by the muse...
If you want to see HAK for yourself, you can do so on Saturday March 27th in the Thun Tower or on Saturday April 24th in the Mattenhof in Interlaken and I can only warmly recommend the gigs! By the way, there are the discs “Dräiät Dürä” and “Wachät Uf”. at CeDe for CHF 27.90 each and I just ordered! Below is the video clip for «Hautät mau d'Schnurä»
