In the Finnish road movie comedy «Heavy Trip», a heavy metal musician tries to lead his completely unknown band to success at Scandinavia's largest music festival. 25-year-old Turo Moilanen (Johannes Holopainen) tries to overcome his own fears so that his heavy metal band, Impaled Rectum, won't remain as obscure as they are. The path to fame and recognition is said to be paved by participating in Norway's largest metal festival called «Symphonic-Post-Apocalyptic-Reindeer-Grinding-Christ-Abusing-Extreme-War-Pagan-Fennoscandian-Metal». But the band's long journey to the venue is paved with grave robbers, Vikings, armed conflicts between Finland and Norway and, last but not least, lots of heavy metal music.
If you want to watch the Finnish film with metal charm in the cinema, you can unfortunately only do it occasionally or for a short time. From February 21, 2019, it will be available digitally via stream and download, and from March 1, 2019 on DVD and Blu-ray for home cinema. But whichever way you might see him, it should be entertaining and, above all, feature film fare away from the modern comedy norm.
