Yes, friends, you read that right, the impossible-to-kill doll will soon be allowed to stab people on a regular basis on home screens. For the beginning a season with eight episodes is planned, each of which should last around an hour.
“We actually already teased that we want to and will do a series with the end of the last film ‘Cult of Chucky’,” explains Chucky creator Don Mancini in a current statement. “It gets really dark and scary. We also want to integrate 'Child's Play' into the title and make it scarier than ever before. The series is purely designed for horror,” said Mancini, who also announced the return of Brad Dourif. He is once again allowed to lend his voice to the murderer doll, something he has been doing for thirty years now. Producer David Kirschner was also able to assure that it is not a reboot. The story continues. Incidentally, the creation of the series does not mean that the film series is put on hold for the time being, it should continue in parallel. So Chucky will come across us quite often in the future.
