Razor sharp - by that I mean that a shave with the Braun Series 5 Model 550CC is just as thorough as with the razor. Up until now I have actually preferred the wet shave and also often wear a three-day beard and if the whiskers are a bit longer, an electric shaver would of course not be bad. Depending on the length of the beard, I just want to be able to choose between wet and dry shaving at home. Shaving is not exactly one of my hobbies, but compared to a beard it is a lesser evil. Every morning men do everything they can to carefully and time-consuming removal of the stubble on their face and now I would like to tell you about my experiences.

I only shave when I have to work or when we go to a party or go out in the evening. Otherwise, the weekend is shave-free. As a result, he has a lot to do on Monday morning. I do have to go over it again on Monday, but the result is still very good. My skin is smooth and there is no more hair on it. When I'm on vacation, the shaving-free time may extend for more days until I'm fed up with it. Then the trimmer is attached and then shaved with the shaving head.

I am relatively satisfied with the performance of the Braun Series 5 shaver. It's great for a slight beard: All hair is removed in one sweep, I don't feel any pulling or "plucking". The device adapts perfectly to my skin due to the movable shaving head. However, if the whiskers are a bit longer, I have to move the shaving head back and forth several times in one place. In my opinion, the razor unfortunately reaches its limits too quickly. With a full battery I shave about 35 to 40 times for 6-7 minutes and can therefore only confirm the manufacturer's information.

The device lies comfortably in the hand and the slide switch can be easily operated with the thumb. Level 1 is the position with the shaving head swinging freely; which I use for my chin and neck; in level 2 the shaving head is not quite as mobile and is best suited for the cheek area; For the area between the upper lip and the nose, I set level 3, where the shaving head remains rigid. On the back of the device is the slide switch for the long hair trimmer, which you need for sideburns or other bearded bugs.

Another reason that speaks for the Braun Series 5 shaver is that it is washable. After use, the shaving foil or the part with the triple shaving system can be removed and cleaned under water. You can also rinse the entire front of the razor under water and save yourself a bath in the cleaning solution.

The razor is black and has an ergonomic shape so that it is comfortable and easy to grip. A blue light provides information about the charge status of the shaver. Nice look, looks very elegant and modern. Personally, I think the device is perfectly processed. Its shape and weight make it easy to hold.

Even if I was skeptical at first, the cleaning of this razor is an absolute hit. With the Clean&Renew system, you can automatically clean, care for, dry and charge the shaver at the push of a button. This makes it feel like new, every day and it's child's play! All you have to do is put the shaver upside down in the cleaning system and press the start button – that's it. Every time I shave I really feel like I'm using a new razor. A cleaning cartridge lasts about 6-8 weeks for me. But I also don't use the cleaning system after every shave because the cartridges aren't that cheap.

Smart Foil means that there are special shaving foils that remove whiskers that grow in different directions. This gives you a clean result. Power Comb is the active integral cutter. A successful razor that I can only recommend to everyone. A great razor that really thoroughly and gently removes even the finer hairs on the neck and ensures smooth skin. I am completely satisfied with this razor, not only because of the thoroughness with which it shaves, but also because of the ease of use. Many claim that a wet shave is much more thorough - I don't necessarily agree with that. If I spend as much time dry shaving as I do wet shaving, it will be just as thorough. Overall I am very satisfied. The cleaning cartridges are not very expensive and you don't have to clean it that often, because rinsing off helps very well. I like the razor to be clean. This makes shaving more fun. If you don't use it, you can put it in the cleaning and charging station. The only disadvantage is that it stands on the cupboard and so collects dust and has to be wiped off from time to time.

Another advantage is that the batteries last a long time and you have full freedom of movement when shaving. According to the manufacturer, one charge is enough for about 50 minutes of shaving time. In my experience, it works out roughly, of course it depends on how thoroughly you approach each shave. The charging time for a complete charging process takes 1 hour. If you've forgotten to charge, there is also the so-called 5-minute quick charge, which is enough for at least a few shaves again.
