Every year Alan Alda announces a competition in which he asks difficult questions. This year he asked what actually color sei and Dianna Cowern won with the following video. We know, and Dianna says it again in the video, that things absorb light and what they don't absorb is the color in which they appear. This reflected light then hits our retina and we perceive it as color. That makes sense and is logical and everything. But she was also unable to answer my long-asked questions. What happens to the part of the light that the object has absorbed? Does that stuff just stay in there? And if so, where? And how long? Or does it come out when nobody is looking? Part of it is, for example, heat, which is then given off again. And is color really only color when we see it? It only becomes a color when the reflected light touches our retina. Before that, it's just some waves. So it only takes on an appearance when we observe it. Wouldn't it then make more sense to say that the car is not red, but that it was red the moment we looked at it? Maybe I shouldn't have chosen the window seat in physics back then ...
To be dead no longer means to believe in the masterpieces that we will tackle tomorrow.

It should be clear that running dravenstales.ch takes a lot of time and costs. To cover costs and maybe a free drink or two, I could plaster the whole place with advertising. But I like my readers, which is why I want to offer them a (largely) ad-free reading experience. If you like what's going on and/or what's going on on this website, then it would be nice if you somehow shared the fun here would support, Thank you!
