Trivium - Shogun

Damn it I like Trivium and with every long player there is a drastic change in the sound. They have found their way back to their old strength brilliantly, because the previous album «The Crusade» turned out to be a bit too good and the nice screaming singing and the aggressiveness were lost a bit too much, so exactly these elements were dug out again here for Shogun. A violent storm blows around your ears, which is absolutely tough and only subsides after a good hour.

All the songs on this disc are bursting with enormous power, which is rarely found in this form. The foursome has written a lot about an imaginative song creation, the singing was of course retained, but no longer dominates the action as much as it was on the previous album. Instead, Matthew often screams all anger out of his stomach and thunders it around the listener's ears with even greater force than is known from the early days. Musically, there was also a lot of tricks: The songs thrive on an ingenious alternation between driving guitars with clubbing drums and quiet, playful moments, most of which are adorned with a catchy chorus.

The pieces are relatively long, but at no time is there even a hint of boredom to be felt, since the music literally captivates you to the loudspeaker. The album combines the successful concept of its predecessor with the screams of the early days. The missing and criticized hardness of "The Crusade" is now omnipresent again and thunders out of the speakers! Splendid! All that remains is to say: you guys did everything right – keep it up! More! :)

And as promised here the lyrics:

Blind-folded and gagged stood waiting
With the whole world my firing squad
At the edge of the world I'm faced out
Staring the sun right in the eye

Vultures circle above, hyenas mocking the kill
Cast drooling down their chins
Atop the cliffs I look down into the starving hell-mouth
The rabid foam crashes hard on it's teeth

Their mouths salivate
Fantasizing my gruesome ending
This world looks down upon
A man who can stand on his own two feet

As they feed their guns «ready aim»
They say I'll live if i die for their cause
Living under the rule of fellow cro-magnon fools
They are afraid to look out and stay still

Their mouths salivate
Fantasizing my gruesome ending
This world looks down upon
A man who can stand on his own two feet

Without eating from their claws

Life feels like hell should
This hell's so cold
Pull another knife out
Stick it with the rest of them
When my back is full
Turn me around to face it

Such melancholy burning the stars from skies
As we melt drowning inside their bloodied eyes
Hope is ravaged running from lacerations
So heavily we choke then we die….

The ... The ... The ... The ...

GUITAR SOLO

The ... The ... The ... The

Life feels like hell should
This hell's so cold
Pull another knife out
Stick it with the rest of them
When my back is full
Turn me around to face it

Sob so heavily we choke then we die ...

"Dravens Tales from the Crypt" has been enchanting for over 15 years with a tasteless mixture of humor, serious journalism - for current events and unbalanced reporting in the press politics - and zombies, garnished with lots of art, entertainment and punk rock. Draven has turned his hobby into a popular brand that cannot be classified.

My blog was never designed to spread news, let alone get political, but with current affairs I just can't help but capture information here that is otherwise censored on all other channels. I am aware that the design page may not seem "serious" to many in this regard, but I will not change this to please the "mainstream". Anyone who is open to non-state-compliant information sees the content and not the packaging. I've tried enough to provide people with information over the last 2 years, but quickly noticed that it never matters how it's "packaged", but what the other person's attitude towards it is. I don't want to put honey on anyone's mouth to meet expectations in any way, so I'll keep this design because hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop making these political statements, because it's not my goal to go on like this forever ;) I leave it up to everyone how they deal with it. It's hard for me to describe what I'm actually doing here, DravensTales has become a culture blog, music blog, shock blog, tech blog, horror blog, fun blog, a blog about found items on the internet, internet bizarre, trash blog, art blog, water heater, zeitgeist blog over the years , Scrap blog and grab bag blog called. Everything that is right ... - and yet not. The main focus of the blog is contemporary art, in the broadest sense of the word.
