Gaby Weber made a documentary about Monsanto. So go and watch the film and if you have a few euros left over, donate it to Gaby so that she can make more films! But be careful: four numbers are missing from the IBAN given in the credits. The correct answer is: DE53 2004 1155 etc. so the “2004” has to be inserted…
In Argentina, 20 million hectares are planted with genetically modified soy. In monoculture. The land is flooded with herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and artificial fertilizers. Argentina holds the world record for glyphosate consumption. At first it was a celebration for the farmers, the seed sellers and the chemical companies. Above all: Monsanto. Today the Monsanto model failed. Not for the mutual funds, but for local farmers and for urban consumers. Today, the cancer rate in the soy-growing areas is two to three times higher than in the city. Huge parts of the country are flooded because the soil can no longer absorb the precipitation. And what the food industry brings from these fields to the supermarkets and exports is poisonous.
I made this film without any financial help. I am grateful for donations. But above all I ask you to spread it. The approval of glyphosate in the EU expires this year, and Monsanto is doing everything possible to prevent a ban. Show this film wherever possible.
