Everyone hates Negan, but nobody can do anything about the new "The Walking Dead" villain. Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Jesus (Tom Payne) venture into the interior of the Sanctuary, the home of the Saviors and Negan. In the 7th episode we see how this attempt works and why Carl suddenly ends up in front of Negan!
Jesus does not want to venture into unfamiliar territory and just before arriving at the sanctuary, he wants to leave the carriage on which they were stowaways. Carl thinks differently about it. With a trick he manages to get Jesus to jump first - assuming that Carl would follow him shortly afterwards. Thought wrong. Carl does not think about running away shortly before the goal and dares to go alone to the sanctuary. While driving with syrup, Jesus left a trail on the road that leads to the sanctuary. He obviously follows Michonne, who is traveling alone. The truck that Carl smuggled into the Sanctuary on is also home to the weapons from Alexandria. Carl grabs one of the guns and fires as the Saviors begin to unload the boxes. That's what you call an effective, but also very eye-catching appearance in the sanctuary. Carl tells the Saviors that he only wants Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and is only here because of him.
It doesn't take long before the leader of the Saviors shows up, who openly tells him that Carl scares him a little. Dwight (Austin Amelio) manages to disarm Carl. Well, that was probably Carl's chance that he didn't use. Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), still a prisoner of the Saviors and has to watch everything. Negan helps Carl back on his feet. Any other intruder would have been killed instantly, but Carl is spared. Negan even offers him food and leads him deeper into the sanctuary. Carl is skeptical and wants to know what plans Negan has for him. Negan is disappointed that Carl suddenly shows fear and doubt and shows him what power he has. As soon as Negan steps in front of his people who live in the sanctuary, they fall on their knees in front of him. He's in charge here. He is not only a leader, but also a god who can decide the life and death of the people present at any time. That leaves even Carl speechless.
Meanwhile, Negan works to get to know Carl, who is so different from the other kids he knows. Negan is really intrigued by Carl. That might be the only reason why the boy is still alive. Still, he has to punish him somehow, Negan continues. After all, Carl killed two Saviors when he arrived. He couldn't let him go without punishment. So he asks Carl to remove his eye bandage to examine his eye socket. It's only when Negan asks if he can touch it that Carl starts to cry. Carl upsets Negan. After Negan tells Carl that what's left of his eye looks cool and he shouldn't hide it under a bandage, he asks Carl to sing for him. Just which song? Carl can't think of one. It's only when he sees Lucille that he finally begins to sing "You Are My Sunshine" while Negan swings Lucille...
