Friends, are you excited for the start of «The Walking Dead» Season 6? Then learn something about the plot here, so in this upcoming season we can expect not only "more walkers than ever before", but apparently also many different storylines, which, according to the first impression, could probably cause some confusion at first. We can also look forward to the appearance of the Wolves, whose presence has apparently been expanded somewhat in the new episodes. There should also be more “internal conflicts”, distrust and disputes within the group. And then there's the arrival of comic book villain Negan towards the end of this upcoming season, Hallelujah!
On October 12th, the time has finally come in our latitudes and the sixth season of «The Walking Dead» will take us back to the Alexandria protection zone, where our heroes around Rick Grimes are still fighting for their survival. Even if their "new home" changed the everyday life of the troops considerably, the dangers have remained the same - and they are no less! Scott M. Gimple, producer of The Walking Dead will pick up roughly where Season 5 left off, then weave 18 main storylines together in incredibly intricate and cool ways. With 18 (!) different story arcs at once, we might already get a first glimpse of why the dimensions should be so gigantic in this new season - but that's not all. Because, as Andrew Lincoln revealed, the season premiere has the potential to blow our minds completely: "I think the first episode will be something that people will not expect at all"!
The aim is to play with time a bit, and not in the traditional sense, and to be honest, it all sounds more like a lot of chaos – or just a lot of «surprises». Since the season premiere will be longer than last year (playing time around 60 minutes), we are very excited to see how Gimple & Co. will continue the story about Rick and his "family" in the Alexandria protection zone. "It's going to be massive and beautiful at the same time," Michonne actress Danai Gurira told Entertainment Weekly. “The pace will constantly shift up a gear depending on who you're watching, what you're watching, and where. But at the same time it's so unpredictable and unique - unlike anything else we've done before. It's just really, really fun to read the scripts and then playing it all was super exciting!" That sounds very promising!
Many fans have been waiting for the arrival of a particularly nasty villain for ages: Negan, the leader of the Saviors, who has a sick love for his barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat Lucille and thus - in the comics - especially for one of our troops, a deadly danger becomes. Apart from the fact that nobody really wants TV-Glenn to find his gruesome death soon, the anticipation for the arrival of Negan seems to be strikingly great. Whether Negan will actually appear in the sixth season or we will only get a few new baseball bat scenes or other references to him remains to be seen.
For this we are introduced to three new main actors in the 6th season. Corey Hawkins plays the role of Heath, a valuable ally for Rick & Co., Merritt Wever, who plays the role of surgeon Dr. Denise Cloyd is likely to become vital to our fighters, and Ethan Embry, who slips into the role of antagonist Carter, a hybrid of comic book characters who is clearly intent on inciting a revolt against the reigning «ricktatorship»! There is definitely a lot of distrust and the announced "internal conflicts" seem to be getting violent. So while Rick will face a lot of suspicions in the coming season, Cookie Queen Melissa McBride aka Carol is apparently more worried about the new villains lurking around the Alexandria Safe Zone: The Wolves! "We're going to put some pieces of the puzzle together in season six and find out more about who these guys really are, why they are who they are and what they want," she told EW.
As for Morgan, we're still puzzled as to how the once brutal zombie killer evolved into such a peace-loving Zen warrior. "Morgan has definitely undergone a transformation, but viewers will find out more about that," promised actor Lennie James. During the course of Season 5, we were able to take a quick look at Morgan several times and quickly realized that he had changed! The insane, lonely man of season 3 has become a self-contained person who doesn't believe in unnecessary violence and appreciates every life. A blatant change that could be interesting, especially in the 6th season. Because Rick and Morgan seem to have swapped roles over the last few seasons: the good sheriff has lost faith in the good in people after numerous strokes of fate. Initial rumors are that there will be a full flashback episode showing what has happened to Morgan since he last appeared in Season 3. In the season 5 finale "Walking Dead," Rick and Morgan first met in Alexandria. The first trailer for the next season and the official promo image already make it clear: two men with different views are facing each other here.
Tyler James Williams and Michael Rooker have also been spotted in Senoia, where the US series is filmed. TWD fans know them as Noah and Merle Dixon - two characters who have already died. So far it is unknown whether they were in Senoia for filming. If so, almost everything seems to point to a scene we already experienced in Season 5, when Tyreese was attacked by a zombie and was dying, he saw other dead TWD characters, Beth Greene among them. Are Merle and Noah coming back to help a character on their way to the afterlife? The producers announced in advance that many flashbacks will await us in season 6. And of course there will be lots of zombies again! Hundreds of zombies! "The threat from the walkers is greater than ever this season," even make-up artist Greg Nicotero had recently announced, although he is of course happy like Bolle to be able to let off steam with the increasingly decomposing little guys. «On one day there were even 300 walkers on the set!» In any case, we are excited for everything that awaits us...
