V/H/S filmmaker David Bruckner follows in the footsteps of Adam Wingard's «Blair Witch». «The Ritual» is the name of his new horror thriller and is an adaptation of Adam Nevill's novel (published by us as «In the Deep Wood») and tells the story of a group of adventurous college friends who are beset by something that cannot be explained naturally. Because when they unknowingly enter a forest from the Nordic sagas during a hike through the Scandinavian wilderness, a malicious creature becomes aware of them, which inexorably starts hunting. Rafe Spall (The Big Short, Life of Pi), Robert James-Collier (Downton Abbey), Arsher Ali (Line of Duty, Four Lions) and Sam Troughton (Robin Hood, Alien vs. Predator) embark on the spooky forest hike. . Appropriately for Halloween, "The Ritual" should then initially take off in British and Irish cinemas.

Actually, Luke and his friends just want to escape the problems of everyday life on a trekking excursion through the Swedish wilderness and build on old times. But when they get lost in the woods, the harmless men's excursion turns into a horror trip: Eviscerated animal carcasses and a mysterious ruin in the middle of the forest are already giving the four hikers the first shivers, and the nervous tension soon brings the darkest sides to the friends emerged. The real nightmare has not even begun.
