What if there were machines to take care of our children? The director pursues this not so absurd idea Ariel Martin in his short film «The iMom». It introduces a humanoid computer that acts as a babysitter - with a dramatic outcome. Martin came up with the idea for the short film when he often saw small children in restaurants using tablet computers. He wondered what it would be like if the device looked like a human and walked around in the family's own four walls. Martin then produced a two-minute clip showing just the iMom advert. Because he was then also thinking about what the world behind the commercial looked like, he made the film and interwoven it with the commercial. Among other things, «iMom» won the AACTA Award for Best Short Film and the Wes Craven Award at the Catalina Film Festival.
Even a disappointment, if only thorough and final, is a step forward.

It should be clear that running dravenstales.ch takes a lot of time and costs. To cover costs and maybe a free drink or two, I could plaster the whole place with advertising. But I like my readers, which is why I want to offer them a (largely) ad-free reading experience. If you like what's going on and/or what's going on on this website, then it would be nice if you somehow shared the fun here would support, Thank you!
