Silent film „Gutterdämmerung“ with prominent rock cast premiere in Berlin

Gutterdämmerung“ is a new rock'n'roll / Film / Gig concept of Belgian-Swedish visual artist Bjorn Tagemose and reminiscent of a silent film from the twenties. Instead of piano music, the strip is, however, accompanied by music from a live rock band.

In Gutterdämmerung God saved the world from sin, by the humanity „Devilish Holy Grail of sin“, the guitar, has removed. The Earth has thus turned into a puritanical society, where there is no room for sex, Drugs and Rock'n'Roll are. From heaven takes the punk angel Vicious (Iggy Pop) bored note of this and throws the guitar behind the back of God back to earth, so can resurrect all the sins of the world again. A devilish priest (Henry Rollins) manipulates a naive girl, to get him the guitar and to destroy them. The girl is on her own and has to deal with the worst rock'n'roll Bastards World, lousy opponent, which make her life hell.

So much for the story, in which as mentioned Iggy Pop den Engel Vicious, the catalyst of the History, plays. God had left his punk angel at heaven, Now humanity is tested and how it looks, Vicious is not ready, as he ascends into the divine part of the sky.Grace Jones is the only person, capable, catching the testosterone of Rock'n'Roller. She is the ultimate nemesis, an African deity from hell. A beautiful, but dangerous face, the will probably see most last in their lives. Henry Rollins mimes a diabolical priest, acting as lousy Hintermann.

Jesse Hughes (Eagles of Death Metal) plays a bounty hunter, who kills for money. In Gutterdämmerung he works for the very people, he abhors in real life - namely,, the use of a sham morality as suppression. Lemmy Kilmister plays a loopy General, commands the armed Panzer Division. Tom Araya (Slayer) plays the mysterious messengers of darkness, allegedly „light“ will bring and the canvas is under fire. Volbeat (michael & Rob) swap their guitars against flamethrower, to pass the apocalyptic battle of Gutterdämmerung. Mark Lanegan (ex-Queens Of The Stone Age) plays the Gravedigger, which strikes our heroine Juliette and must bother with strange visitors, wishing his soul, resulting in psychedelic consequences. Joshua Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) has the guitar laid down and takes place the death with his Bazooka, poetically called the „Supremacy of Death '“. Justice (Xavier de Rosnay & Gaspard Augé) quickly find out what happens when you touch the sacred guitar - probably no good? Slash starts the search for the „phallic instrument of external torment“ - As a thief in the Night, but with the cool style of rock'n'roll ghost. and Nina Hagen has a sudden and unexpected appearance as a High Priestess of Punk.

Kevin Armstrong, his character English rock guitarist, Record producer and songwriter, is the musical director of Gutterdämmerung. He is especially known for his work with David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Morrissey. Die Live-Band, which is at every performance here, will play ausschliessßlich rock and metal classics, only give the film the right atmosphere and depth. at the 6. May celebrating the loudest silent film in the world „Gutterdämmerung“ im White Trash in Berlin Premiere. Doors open at 19 Clock, beginning at 20 Clock.

Gutterdämmerung – TRAILER

Hell yeah and fuck yes! I just keep dreaming? Is my pants wet? In „Gutterdämmerung“ playing greats like Slash, Josh Homme, Lemmy Kilmister, Grace Jones, Iggy Pop, Justice, Henry Rollins, Slayer’s Tom Araya, Volbeat, Mark Lanegan, Nina Hagen and Jesse Hughes! This is so much rock, that it already Metal is. at the 12. November is the piece together with a band, the course, all appropriately dubbed, premiered. On Film Website there is more information, but unfortunately nothing about a German release or. a German Tour. That would be very, very cool, but it would surprise me even, if it does not exist. Nina Hagen is a good indication, that will come to us. And I do not like Volbeat (So if I Ehrlich thousand, I hate this band), but otherwise it's very, very cool!

Gutterdämmerung - Poster

The film is set in a world where God has saved the world from sin by taking from mankind the Devil’s ‘Grail of Sin’…..the Evil Guitar. The Earth has now turned into a puritan world where there is no room for sex, drugs or rock ‘n’ roll.
From up on high in heaven a “punk-angel”, vicious (portrayed by Iggy Pop), looks upon the world with weary bored eyes. Behind God’s back, Vicious sends the Devil’s guitar back to earth and sin in all its forms returns to mankind.
An evil puritan priest (Henry Rollins) manipulates a naive girl to retrieve the guitar and destroy it. On her quest to find the Devil’s Grail Of Sin, the girl is forced to face the world’s most evil rock and roll bastards. Throughout her journey, she has a rival in the form of a rock chick determined to stop her from destroying the instrument.

Slash rocked the St. Jakobspark in Basel

Last Saturday evening was Gitarrengott Slash finally once again live in the Switzerland on stage. savage, jet-black tresses, Cylinder, Sunglasses and Gibson „Les Paul“-Guitar at the ready - briefly: Slash! His appearance is no less legendary as his nimble fingers, elicit the electric guitar sounds, like it otherwise no one else can. Slash, who achieved worldwide fame with Guns N 'Roses and, according to the „Time Magazine“ the second largest electric guitarist of all time by Jimi Hendrix, plays an exclusive Swiss Concert in the St. Jakobshalle. Like last time was of course Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge) and the Conspirators (Todd Kerns, Frank Sidoris and Brent Fitz) to take back with us and get it together briefly, the gig was absolutely great!

Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators

Saul Hudson, as Slash called civil, wrote with Guns N'Roses history and become world famous. Uber 100 Million albums he could sell them. Overall, Slash was 7 Time Grammy nomination, where he could take the trophy once home. That Slash unlike Hendrix is still alive, has more to do with luck than brains. Twice already tapped the Today 49 Years at the Pearly Gates: 1988, when they him pumped full of heroin before the cabin door of a hotel in San Francisco found lying - a full eight minutes Slash had no pulse. and 2001 he had a heart pacemaker, because he „fast totgesoffen“ had. Since then he drinks no alcohol and the Drugs He has also renounced. The guitar playing was for him now a lot berauschenderer TripAdvisor.

After the departure 1996 as lead guitarist for Guns N 'Roses, he devoted himself to his projects as „Slash’s Snakepit“ or „Slash’s Blues Ball“, before the Stone Temple Pilot frontman Scott Weiland and former bandmate of Guns N'Roses (Allen, except Axl Rose) die Rock-Band „Velvet Revolver“ founded. In between, he held always as guest audiences with various bands and musicians (u.a. Lenny Kravitz, Michael Jackson, Alice Cooper and Brian May). Last year, Slash is also entered the film business and has the horror film „Nothing left to fear“ Produced. He has fulfilled an old dream, the Slash has always been a big fan of horror movies and the end of the year already starts production of the next strip.

Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators

Slash wrote rock history and is so far from finished. In September, he released his new album „World On Fire“, the third solo album within the last four years, After „Slash“ (2010) and „Apocalyptic Love“ (2012). Both discs scored from zero to third place in the Swiss charts, The breakthrough in his solo career was the album „Slash“, where he along with many rock greats like Duff McKagan, Lemmy Kilmister, Dave Grohl, Fergie or Iggy Pop made music, what it plus the star on the „Walk of Fame“ in Hollywood vor dem Hard Rock Café am Sunset Boulevard, yet earned many other awards. Above all, his riffs, u.a. as from „Sweet Child O‘ Mine“, what ever is considered the best in rock music, made him world famous, and he was of course in the legendary „Rock and Roll Hall of Fame“ recorded.

Slash is a perfectionist and a doer of the Love the Music lives in all facets. For more than three years, he is now with the „Alter Bridge“ Singer Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators around the globe on tour. He allows himself only short breaks, which he in turn uses a new album einzuspielen or, most recently, horror films under his label „Slasher Films“ to turn. In the early 80s played in the band Slash „Tidus Sloan“, then moved to „Road Crew“ where he first met Steven Adler. The two formed later along with Axl Rose, the band „Hollywood Rose“ and later it „Guns N’Roses“ emerged, should be world famous by Slash finally. But let us return to the concert.

Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators

There are still (fast) nothing better, than to be infatuated on a rainy Saturday evening of guitar playing to perfection. This idea seemed to have also made many other rock fans, because the hall was packed, but I was a bit surprised, that „Joggeli“ was not sold out. The first band „Monster Truck“ from Canada played a mix of Southern- and psychedelic rock and reminiscent with their sound back to the past and still managed, fresh and groovy rüberzukommen. I did not know this band until now and have to say, that this entry in the evening was absolutely great! Brilliant sound and I can the current album „Furiosity“ put every rock fan only warmly recommend!

Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators - Slither, Basel. 15.11.14

After a short pause then stood Tag Slash, pulling out his sunglasses in bed, Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators on stage. From the first guitar riff and the first sound of it was under the spell of the band and you can tell immediately, that only thoroughbred musicians were on stage, exactly know what they are doing. So it was a difficult made, to focus the hearing and the views, you almost did not know, where to listen and look. Continuously you had the feeling, if one devotes eyes and ears Myles, gives you guitar god Slash too little attention and vice versa. But Todd Kerns, Frank Sidoris and Brent Fitz from the Conspirators gave a great show and the whole band is playing the hell out of them.

Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators

as expected, some songs were of course played by the Guns N'Roses. So found songs like „Night Train“, „Out Ta Get Me“, „Mr. Brownstone“, „Rocket Queen“ and to my very special joy „You could be mine“ a well-deserved place in the setlist. Myles Kennedy showed up as always very close audience and managed, not only the fans in the front row, to animate but also the audience at the back to rock. Also singing the singer showed his skill and convinced the fans to the rear most row. Especially the new song „Bent To Fly“ had goosebumps hip.

Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators

The guitar solo by Slash, which to he „Rocket The Queen“ gave the best, moulted to another of the many highlights of the evening. You got quite the feeling, the good would not stop with the Solo, because it was not just any solo, no, it was a Slash solo as it appears in the book. Awesome listening audiences the guitar god Slash and seemed to enjoy his moment completely. Another highlight of the evening was the classic „Sweet Child O‘ Mine“, Here sang the whole hall and waved their arms in height. As a bonus, Slash then gave „Paradise City“ cooked the best and the hall! The fans will remember for a while this evening. It was a two-hour rock show of superlatives. Slash, Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators have once again proved what they can do and offset the St. Jacob Hall in ecstasy.

Und last but not least hat sich Robb Flynn Reported by Machine Head to word with a long farewell letter, which he in his published blogt can:

“Still can’t believe that Jeff Hanneman from Slayer is dead, things like that just don’t happen. Thrashers don’t die??!! WTF!!??

I’m not going to sit here and say how him and I were best buds or something, we definitely weren’t, I’d barely call us acquaintances, I did 8 tours and over 120 shows with the Dude and honestly, I never really got to “know him”. I was always Closer with Kerry. Jeff was super quiet, really kept to himself, would get rowdy when he was drunk, but was a bit aloof, and seemed annoyed at the people partying around him despite the fact that he himself would be getting hammered.

I can remember some good hangs with him though. The first was in Basel, Switzerland back in November, 1994 when Machine Head was main support to Slayer on the Divine Intervention tour. It was one of those shows were something so random happens it just never leaves you, in this case, the show was Sponsored by Chesterfield cigarettes and every kid entering the show got 2 free packs of smokes. I’ve never seen so much smoke in a venue in my life. I remember walking onstage and yelling at our roadie / everything-guy Mike Scum, “DUDE, turn off the fuckin’ smoke machine”, he said “YOOOOO, it’s not the smoke machine bro, it’s the cigarettes!” It was damn near impossible to Breath onstage. After the show we were hanging backstage and Jeff walked back, we started bitching about the Crazy cigarette show, and he invited me back to the dressing room to grab a beer, we sat down and chatted for a while, and then I went all Slayer-nerd on him and started grilling him on what songs he wrote.

me: “Who wrote Angel Of Death?”
Jeff: “I did”
me: “Lyrics too?”
Jeff: “Yep”
me: “Reign In Blood?”
Jeff: “Me”
me: “Dead Skin Mask?”
Jeff: “Yep”
me: “South Of Heaven?”
Jeff: “Me”
me: “Black Magic?”
Jeff: “You know it”
me: “Hell Awaits?”
Jeff: “Yep”

Jeff Hanneman: RIP
On and on it went, that man wrote both the music and lyrics to a large goddamn portion of my favorite Slayer songs. He was a huge influence on my songwriting growing up in particular with arrangements and the bold use of key changes. The one thing Slayer band always had over so many other bands is they were all over the guitar neck when it came to key changes. Leads would be in some of the most random keys ever, but somehow it made it all that much more frantic, and when the chorus kicked back in, Boom! CRUSHING! Set up perfectly. He was one of the few metal heads I met who never really got into Pantera, he told me he “liked some stuff”, but thought they we’re “too bluesy at times”, and that he “liked more evil notes or sad riffs”

Another good memory was sharing a tour bus on the August 2001 Korean / Japan / Australia tour, it was all fly-dates and hotels, we were sharing crew, tour manager and manager, so we all rode on the bus together to and from the airport to the hotel every day. Sometimes the rides were an hour or two, so you’d just all BS and hang. One time a kid in Australia bum-rushed the bus while we were all sitting in it, hammered after partying one night. He was desperate for autographs and came on the bus screaming (what else?) "SLAAAAAAAAAYYYYYEEEEERRRR!!!” He then saw me and went all, “Oh shit, Robb Flynn, mate I fuckin’ LOVE Machine Head, but it’s fuckin’ SLAAAAAAAYYYYYYYEEEERRRRR” I looked the fucker right in the eye and slurred, “Oh just FUCK RIGHT OFF!!” Hannamen fell out dying, he laughed for 10 minutes straight, cracked him up, that slightly feminine high pitched giggle that he always did.

Dude backed me when Kerry King and I were beefin all that time long ago, he would come up to me at festivals and would talk, just be normal. He even backed me in Decibel magazine when they asked him about the beef, saying “Robb is a good dude”, and that “Kerry was like the girlfriend of the band, always beefin’ with someone”. I got a good laugh outta that.

The last memory I’ll share is from the American leg of the Divine Intervention tour in March 1995. It was Slayer, Biohazard supporting, and Machine Head opening. We were playing the International Ballroom in Atlanta Georgia. He had been sitting out some of the new songs from “Divine”, which was odd to me. We were hanging out in their dressing room before the show, just him and I, and I mustered up the nerve to ask him what the deal with it was. At first he joked that he just “didn’t feel like learning them, didn’t like ‘em, Kerry wrote them”, he was chuckling, and then he stopped. He looked down and got serious. He said he’d been having a lot of pain in his wrists, his hands and wrists were going numb all the time, and would go numb during those songs Because they were really fast, then he started to cry. It was a startling confession. I offered some awkward feel-good comment, but he just continued to cry, and I decided to sit there in the silence with him for a minute. He gave me a hug, and said “Whoa!”, and laughed walked out toward the stage, turned back and said “thanks dude”.

It was an intense moment, one of those rare, intense Moments you have with someone, let alone with someone from another band.

It made me really respect the dude.

That’s the Jeff I’m gonna remember.

To Kerry, Tom, Dave, Paul, Rick Sales Mgmt and Jeff’s family, my sincere condolences.

R.I.P brother.”

DBD: Anastasia – Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators

Slash - "Anastasia"

Blood red sky on a desert road
Gotta make my way down to Mexico
for what I did, I know that it was Wrong
The fire in my heart it will never die
Everything I love will be left behind
No turning back, forever gone tonight

All my love Anastasia, Anastasia
This may be our last goodbye
You can’t save me
I am fading
Blood is on my hands tonight

All I need is a miracle
Lawmen got me running now forevermore
They’ll hunt me down until the end of time
Oh my mama, now I’ve got to go
Never love another how I loved you so
I’m so afraid to leave this all behind

All my love Anastasia, Anastasia
This may be our last goodbye
You can’t save me
I am fading
Blood is on my hands tonight

(Only)

All my love Anastasia, Anastasia
This may be our last goodbye
You can’t save me
I am fading
Blood is on my hands tonight

Anastasia, Anastasia
For your honor took a life
You can’t save me
I am fading
Blood is on my hands tonight
