The wait is over, the iOS app was launched on March 6th (see link below) and now there is finally an Android version that offers the popular TV series "South Park" for on the go. All episodes of the cult series about Kenny, Cartman & Co. can be viewed completely free of charge!
South Park is one of the most successful series on the TV station "Comedy Central" and there are now more than 17 seasons and series specials. For some time now, the episodes have been able to be streamed legally and free of charge on the Internet, and now Android users can also enjoy this and can now watch all South Park episodes on smartphones and tablets. All episodes, which are also available on southpark.de and southparkstudios.com, are now available on the go. The episodes can be viewed in German or English and this completely free of charge!
The quality of the video stream adapts automatically to the respective network connection through HTTP live streaming, with the app falling back on a total of three different quality levels:
- Bandwidth: 160 KB, resolution: 416 x 312 pixels
- Bandwidth: 560 KB, resolution: 416 x 312 pixels
- Bandwidth: 1,2 MB, resolution: 640 x 480 pixels
For future updates, the developers plan to stream the videos in HD quality (720p), as well as support for Google Chromecast. The South Park app can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store and iTunes.
