Yesterday Pokémon Go was officially released in our latitudes. The game can be downloaded free of charge for Android and iOS. Pokémon Go is about catching different types of Pokémon, which was combined with augmented reality in the game. The AR aspect, which brings players to the streets and squares to catch Pokémon, was contributed by the developer studio Niantic Labs, which was formerly part of Google. Google made Niantic, best known for its augmented reality game Ingress, independent last year.
After Pokémon Go has already appeared in Australia, New Zealand and the US&A, we can now officially use the app. Pokemon Go is available for free but offers paid in-app purchases. PokéCoins are the game's official currency and can be exchanged for premium items at Pokémon Go. It is estimated that Pokémon Go made $ 1,6 million in the past week from in-app purchases by iOS users in North America alone. Whoever installs the game should be aware that you have to grant it extensive access rights. Pokémon Go wants, among other things, to record your location and access your photos, videos and contacts. A lot of data is collected about you, some of which are also passed on to third parties according to the data protection regulations
If you have an Android device, but the download from the Play Store is not activated for your mobile phone, you can also download the game for free at APKMirror.
To illustrate the extent, until recently the game was officially only available in the US&A, Australia and New Zealand. Two days after launch, the app was reportedly installed on more than five percent of all Android devices in the US&A. The iOS version took first place in the iTunes charts within 24 hours, at least in the Free Apps category. In terms of usage intensity, Pokémon Go is already in the same league as Twitter, Snapchat, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger. Since the game became available, New York City's Central Park has been besieged by remote-controlled people. Here are a few current impressions:
