While in Greece, threatened by bankruptcy, the people's displeasure with the government's austerity measures is unloading on the streets, a very special demonstrator has now achieved cult status: the mixed breed dog Loukanikos, or Louk for short. Almost every day he can be seen nationwide on TV pictures, where he bustles around masked people and emergency services. While other dogs look for a safe place with their tails drawn in, Louk is not afraid of tear gas or projectiles. This is probably the reason why his fans make him a symbol of the Greek resistance. Curiously, the four-legged friend seems to stay true to one side. For the last two years Louk has appeared again and again on demonstration pictures, which show him always ready to fight the police and in solidarity with the protesters. The result: countless videos on YouTube Facebook Profile and Pictures of the demos make the «Riot-Dog» an internet star.
