873 AD: Banished by their own king, a horde of fearless Vikings set course for Britain. Their goal: the Lindisfarne monastery with its gold treasures, which they want to plunder under their daredevil leader Asbjörn (Tom Hopper) in order to buy themselves free from the ban. Surprised by a heavy storm, however, their dragon boat crashes into the rocks off the Scottish coast. Stranded in hostile territory, their only chance is to escape to the Danelag, a remote Viking settlement. On their arduous journey through the Highlands, the warriors take control of Lady Inghean (Charlie Murphy), the brave daughter of the Scottish King Dunchaid (Danny Keogh). The exiles sense their chance of a substantial ransom.
But Dunchaid incites his notorious "wolf pack" on the kidnappers' necks. This group of mercenaries is feared across the country because of its cruelty.
Only with the support of the mysterious monk Conall (Ryan Kwanten) do the tough Northmen escape at the last moment the attacks of the determined "wolves" and their merciless leader Hjorr (Ed Skrein). Conall leads the Vikings on the long forgotten "Path of the Snake", the only safe way into Danelag. A merciless race against time begins - a hunt for life and death.
The film will start in cinemas on October 23, 2014 and the way the trailer looks, it could well be worth watching!
