Spanish director F. Javier Gutierrez is directing the remake of the 1994 horror comic film adaptation. The original was about the brutal murder of young musician Eric Draven and his fiancée, who later comes back from the dead to exact revenge. The leading actor at the time, Brandon Lee, son of Bruce Lee, died in an accident on the set while filming. The 28-year-old was killed by a real bullet accidentally loaded into a film revolver. When The Crow's original director, Alex Proyas, first heard that a remake was in the works, all he had to say about it was:
"That's other people involved with that and I wouldn't even dream of remaking the movie because as far as I'm concerned, that's Brandon Lee's movie and that's why I finished the movie — in memory of Brandon. That's the only reason I actually finished it."
Now the British actor Luke Evans ("The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey"), who is currently very popular in Hollywood, is to take on the leading role in "The Crow", according to the cinema portal "Deadline.com«. In between, negotiations were held with Bradley Cooper, Mark Wahlberg and Channing Tatum. Evans recently landed the title role in the forthcoming film "Dracula Year Zero." At the end of May he will be in cinemas as the villain in the action film "Fast & Furious 6".
