Auf dem Bolderhof in Hemishofen In beautiful Switzerland, visitors can enter under the motto “The cow and you” Cow trekking book and have the chance to climb on the back of a dairy cow and ride it over meadows, forests and through rivers in the Rhine valley. The cow ride through the Alpine landscape is offered in one version, from 2 cows and a duration of 1 1/2 hours, without afternoon snack for CHF 95 per cow or a four-hour half-day excursion from 4 cows, with an organic snack for CHF 150 per cow.
After a brief introduction and getting to know the cow, humans and animals are ready for the ride. You ride over the extensive fields, through rustling forests and the meadow landscape near the rivers Biber and Rhine. The cows have their own pace, somewhere between slow and very slow and so the ride remains calm and quiet so that the rider can enjoy the beauty of the landscape without stress. Cows have one advantage over horses: cows are not nearly as jumpy as horses. So if something happens around you, the cow is still standing, while you can no longer see the horse. The biggest challenge for a cow trekker, however, is the delicious grass or the juicy corn along the route, because here the cows can quickly forget themselves and it takes some efforts on the part of the rider to get the cow moving again. All in all, however, a fun idea and definitely an unforgettable experience ...
