Statistically, almost 2 million Swiss suffer from high blood pressure. Diseases of the cardiovascular system have long been the leading cause of death in industrialized countries.
This is exactly where the thematically specialized exhibition BODY WORLDS - A matter of the heart comes in. It shows visitors without a warning finger how even small changes in our daily life can have a major impact on the overall condition of our body. More than 200 preparations offer doctors and laypeople an unforgettable look into their inner workings, individual organ functions and the most common diseases. But the emotional component of the heart and its symbolism in religion, art and literature are also examined.
The doctor Dr. Angelina Whalley emphasizes the educational value: “We often only pay attention to our heart, this vital organ, when it falls ill or is under great strain. That is why I would like the exhibition to encourage visitors to live healthier and more heart-conscious. "
