Since we are currently waiting for the fourth season of “Game of Thrones” and can’t get enough of “The Walking Dead” anyway, “Knight of the Dead” is a warm welcome to us. Director Mark Atkins, known for works such as “Battle of Los Angeles”, “Alien Predator” and “Sand Sharks”, is exactly the right man to direct “Knight of the Dead”. Although the cinephile film lover will not find any innovative storylines or atmospheric color design here, "Knight of the Dead" instead features bleak, uniformly gray settings and actors who are visibly pushing the limits of their abilities. There are also rumbling CGI splatter effects and classic zombie clichés. And the best thing is that “Knight of the Dead” delves deeply into the previously unknown subject of knightly conflicts with the undead.
