Not only Donald Trump is railing against migrants and Muslims in the United States, various groups and organizations are also publicly speaking out against minorities. The "Hate map"Of Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) shows in which US regions these hate groups are active.
This map is covered with swastikas, Ku Klux Klan hats and other symbols of associations that campaign against black people, homosexuals and transsexuals, migrants and Muslims, or are anti-Semitic and deny the Holocaust. The hats of the Ku Klux Klan cover the states in the east and west of the country like little gray ghosts. According to the map, the violent secret society is the largest hate group in the United States, followed by black separatists who speak out anti-Semitic and demand a nation of their own for black people.
If you click on the many swastikas of the «Hate map«, the National Socialist movement appears in several federal states. It is one of the largest US neo-Nazi groups. Until a few years ago, its members demonstrated in Nazi uniforms and armbands with a swastika symbol. Since Barack Obama became US President in 2009, the number of active hate groups has increased. According to the SPLC, this is because people from the white working and middle classes in particular blame Obama's policies and immigration for the growing inequality in the country. Instead of seeing immigration as something that has always existed everywhere, white US citizens fear becoming a minority. In addition to their exclusionary opinions, the hate initiatives have in common that some of them have become delinquent or violent, writes the SPLC. These include white nationalists who see non-whites as inferior, anti-LGBT groups, racist skinheads, black separatists and the Ku Klux Klan. In the Northwest of the USA, on the other hand, one seems to be safest from the radical groups - or they only keep a low profile there.
