On March 16, 2010, God of War III will be released in Switzerland and almost two weeks before the release, we were invited to play Sony's PS3 blockbuster at a truly Greek pre-gaming event in the raw materials warehouse in Zurich. We take this as an opportunity to hold a GoW Special here in the crypt today, where you will learn all kinds of things about the dramatic adventures of Kratos, the Spartan, including music, videos and a review, the first, extremely positive impressions of the action epic ! But more on that as mentioned later, for now Lyric's report on the aforementioned Sony pre-gaming event:
After arriving at the Rösti full of anticipation, I let the surroundings work on me. Apocalyptic mood, ruins, and in the middle of it the Sony Playstation PreGamingevent from God of War III.
At the entrance I get my badge and the following welcome speech:
«Hi Lyric, I'm glad you could come. You can leave your jacket in the cloakroom and you can get something to drink at the bar. Then you can sit down at any console and gamble until your fingers fall off." Hallelujah!
So, put down your jacket, fetched repair beer and flopped on an armchair.
After a very short time, as a GoW virgin, I manage the first combos and I quickly realize that this game is awesome and the action is BIG! Blood, Guts and Glory, these are the essential ingredients.
The whole event is extremely stylish, with Greek columns, sofas, consoles and Greek finger food everywhere. I notice how well Sony put on this event when suddenly a deafening gong sounds, followed by the typical in-game music. Slightly mystical, pompous with shawms and fanfares. The room darkens slightly, somewhere someone has started a fog machine and a muscular giant emerges from a darkened niche. Clad in leather and chains, including the striking war paint. Kratos is there, the Spartan who is the main character in the game is now among us. He underlines the show with a loud war roar. At his side is Persophone, who is truly worthy of her reputation. Beauty and violence, the ultimate duo.
20 minutes later, it felt like I'm still completely spellbound by the action, but the employees in the background are starting to convert the raw materials warehouse back to normal operation. I look at the clock, it's been an unbelievable 5 hours (!) Since the welcome speech.
And so I start tidying up, stowing the giveaways and the press box that I got. There are; a small poster, trading cards and a small booklet with information about the game and a few pieces of artwork. Of course I also received a version of GoW, now all I need is the PS3
When I leave the Rösti, I sum up the event. Ingeniously organized, ingenious show, ingenious finger food ... simply ingenious!
