Ok, the trailer looks a bit like the typical “tweens go forbidden into a dark cave and die a cruel death” movie, but it gets pretty cool when you look at the mask of the first corpse that was there stumbles down. It's no coincidence, the film comes from Hiroshi Katagiri, who is otherwise known for all sorts of effects. However, films by special effects people often have the problem that they are not particularly good story-wise. But here I have a pretty good feeling:
Encompassing horror, suspense and a twist that will blow your mind, Gehenna fixes on five people who enter a hidden bunker from WW2, and realize it's way more than a bunker. Some fates are MUCH worse than death.
Sounds interesting, just like the cast sounds interesting. There will be people like Doug Jones (he just always plays monsters) and Lance Henriksen (Bishop from “Alien”) and I imagine they're not doing any nonsense. The film is now to be passed around at a couple of horror film festivals in the USo & A, unfortunately no releases are known yet. Probably then on VoD and DVD. Sometime. Perhaps…
