“El Vendedor de Humo”, which means something like “The Smoke Seller”, is a student work from the Spanish animation school Primerframe, directed by Jaime Maestro, who seems to be an old hand in the industry and for several years the whole animation area at the Primerframe directs. In addition to directing, Maestro is also responsible for team building and should in this way ensure constant, qualitative output. The film is about a magician who goes from village to village to bring his tricks to the man for a small donation. But appearances are deceptive, as the villagers quickly find out ... It is a remarkable short film, especially from a technical point of view, but the content of the film only gets going after almost halfway through.
We humans tend to fall into dogmatism and no longer admit other opinions. A little more tolerance, especially in everyday life, would do us all very well ... There is a trick to break out of a dogma: “Don't believe everything you think.” That means, be critical of your thoughts! "
