With "Schock mein System" the Munich Eisboys around Alex Wesselsky and Jochen "Noel Pix" Seibert herald a new era in the history of the band. With their album "Schock", which was released on January 16th, enthusiastically Eisbrecher their fans in the Z7 in Pratteln once again. They were accompanied by the industrial rockers Maerzfeldwho were allowed to design the preliminary program as a special guest. Are live Eisbrecher always a pleasure, full of brute force and the necessary portion of self-irony just in a class of its own. Powerful and honest. Every time it is really big cinema what Alexx and his team offer us on stage and every Eisbrecher concert is simply a unique live experience.
As it is well known that good things take time, the band made it rare on the stages in 2014 to fully devote themselves to album production. You don't have to say much about the past of the Munich band. For 11 years they worked their way up bit by bit, contested countless tours, supported stars like Alice Cooper and the Scorpions and yet always played in their own league. Eisbrecher gigs are known for a big rock show and idiosyncratic entertainment. In a time when nothing can really shock society because everything has already been there and the same crap is always washed through the media, it is good to know that there are still artists with a critical eye and their own mind reflect the world.
There was no question of "ice cold" on Friday, March 6th in the practically sold-out Z7 in Pratteln! Maerzfeld, who some may also know as probably the most successful Rammstein cover band "Stahlzeit", were allowed to heat up the crowd. The band name is derived from the March field, which is under the Merovingians served as an army meeting place. The name should also symbolize a field that has to be worked on and maintained every year in March, which the band sees as a metaphor for life in which one can only achieve one's goals through effort and work. The ambiguity of the name in relation to the March field under the National Socialists was chosen deliberately to protest against the mostly immediate association of German history with the Third Reich.
During the first songs, the band and the audience were still very reserved and both didn't quite come out of themselves, while singer Helfried Reissenweber encouraged the audience to join in with a lot of energy right from the start. The band really got the audience excited and came out with their new single “Es rupt” which will be on the new album “Nackt” in autumn. If you liked, you could take the single with you free of charge at the merchandise stand, and after the band's convincing performance, they made good use of it. After “Es rupt” things really got going, with “Treibjagd” the band came out of their shells and really made the stage tremble. Finally, Maerzfeld presented a second new piece from the upcoming album before they left the stage.

In the break between Maerzfeld and Eisbrecher, the stage was rebuilt and what you saw there made you hope for a great show. A little later Captain Alexx entered the stage full of energy and the audience could not be held any longer. As on the album, "Full Power Ahead" proved to be an excellent opener, with full steam ahead and the most elaborate icebreaker stage production to date, many small details underlined the band's performance, which truly became a spectacle of a special kind, and so it went a lot of power and vigour. The guitarists Noel Pix and Jürgen Plangger worked their instruments with full physical effort and it was fun to watch the whole band perform. The crowds roared and just about everyone sang along. An insane atmosphere flooded through the Z7, which was underlined by a grandiose light show.
In the next two hours, as always, Eisbrecher gave their all, of course with the typically funny banter between the songs. Many fans were also very sure of the lyrics to the new songs, and for the others there was an LED text scrolling line on the stage for “Between Us”, where everyone could sing along in karaoke style. Between heavy metal, electro, new German wave and big melodies, Eisbrecher fire off one climax after the other. Well-tried meets freshly set to music, presented in a rousing stage show. Close and real, hard and tender, live and loud, a great concert through and through by a great band! An excellent mix of old hits and new hits was played. "Black Widow" sounded with completely new tones, "Forget-me-not" was not the song for the encore and also the new songs like "Between us", that very successful "1000 scars" and "So or so" or "Noch to rescue » was heard by the audience, which also covered the highlights of the new album.
Before the last song, Alexx brought a hunting horn onto the stage and tried it, but only weird sounds came out and the band quickly redeemed him and tuned into the last song "This is German". A fitting song, with an explosive atmosphere and a grandiose stage interlude. During the chorus, CO² was blown out of tanks into the air, creating huge columns of fog. A brilliant conclusion, but anyone who knows Eisbrecher concerts knows that there is more to come. With raging applause and insatiable calls for more, the encores began. First "Ice Age" sounded, then came "Crazy" and the masses raged. With "Miststück" the absolute climax was reached, really everyone sang along, so that Alexx disappeared from the stage - only to appear in the middle of the audience minutes later to pass the microphone on to the fans, who yelled the refrain into the microphone at an angle. A very last song came with "Ohne dich" before the icebreaker finally said goodbye to the stage.
The icy men around the veteran warhorses Alexander «Alexx» Wesselsky and Jochen «Noel Pix» Seibert offered an overwhelming performance and the great stage show definitely brought the Z7 to a boil. The entertainer qualities of frontman Alexx, paired with the great songs and the band's musical ability left nothing to be desired, except maybe that the concert will be repeated immediately. Alexx is a ramp pig through and through and he made it clear several times that evening that icebreakers still want to play in the Z7 quite often, without that unspeakable hardware store "OBI" that threatens to oust the Z7. With the words "Thank you very much Pratteln, you were awesome", the band thanked the audience for the great (h) ice-cold evening and threw a few plush polar bears into the audience. A really wonderful, yes grandiose concert with a bombastic show, which will be hard to beat!
