Lyric wrote a game review for the crypt, for which I would like to thank you right away and hand over the floor to Lyric right away: I have a déjà vu - this realization haunts me when I play the new Dante's Inferno on the Xbox360. The diligent reader of the crypt will surely remember that not long ago I attended the pre-launch of God of War 3 was, and apart from Launch event (who rocked a lot at GoW) the two games are pretty similar ...

To the story:
The story isn't that bad. Dante, a former crusader, returns to his beloved, but the hut is devastated, the servants are murdered and in the garden he finds his beloved, naked and pierced by a sword. Thereupon he sets out to free his beloved (or her spirit) from the clutches of the underworld. As in the poem, it is also important in the game to descend through Dante's nine unique circles of hell: limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, deceit and betrayal. Each circle features environments, opponents, and story elements that correspond to the sins committed by its residents.

The optics:
In the first few minutes of the game, the announced déjà-vu germinates. Firstly, the story is similar, an (anti) hero sets out to murder gods / demons ... Dante's Inferno does not skimp on cheap stimuli either. Blood, Tits and Violence would be a fitting summary of the gaming experience. But more on that later.

For controlling:
In the first playable moments everything seems very familiar to me, one key for fast but weak attacks, one key for slow but fat hits. Plus a magic attack button and a button to block ... Sounds easy? It is at first, but you quickly notice that the coders who built the game are real sadists. What starts out as a lively slaughter becomes increasingly exhausting, with the jump-and-run moments of the game in particular getting maddened over time. As a clue: I got to the passage where you had to swing from chain to chain according to the pleasure area, scratched about 30 times, to the point about 3 times, but each time with the boss who sorts the sinners.
An example: to slaughter your way through the hordes => easy. Then swinging from chain to chain => hardly feasible. The main drawback of the game is actually the movement, the combat parts are actually almost too easy.
The real-time events in which Kratos massacred the gods in a cinematic way also appear in Dante's Inferno, but there they are kept simpler and not quite as varied as in GoW.

Dante's Inferno The First Circle: Limbo
Dante's Inferno The First Circle: Limbo

And finally ...
So what are the differences between GOW and Dante's Inferno? Well, GoW scores with the splatter factor, the amount of blood that Kratos distributes in the room is massively higher than with Dante, especially since the real-time events mentioned above were simply more blatant with Kratos, although Dante's Inferno also has some things that are absolutely PEGI 18+ is, but just not quite as bloody. On the other hand, Dante has the «sickness» point. Because you will not only be attacked by demons and zombies, but also by babies who have scythe blades instead of hands and feet and are uncomfortably fast. Since the seven deadly sins in hell are of course also part of it, it comes across extremely well, in the area of lust you are attacked by female monsters, which would actually be quite sharp if they didn't have huge aggro phalluses with which to beat up the hero.
In general, when it comes to sex, GoW is a real kindergarten cuddle in contrast to Dante's Inferno, which even amazed me. (REALLY)

Kratos looked better while slaughtering, the animations and combat moves were somehow smoother, Dante's Inferno feels a bit "flat" (although I've only played the first third of the game, maybe it gets even harder there)

The two Hack-n-Slay Games have one thing in common, an ingenious story, GoW is a very detailed replica of the epic, Dante's Inferno is a perfect copy of the book in terms of level, but you have to turn a blind eye to the hero, because Dante doesn't even come close to that Lived under King Richard during the Crusades. (Interested but probably not a pig)
Also, the original Dante (from the book) is quite a wimp, he's actually more the tourist visiting hell, while the hero in the game is a pretty tough bastard. (It becomes clear in the opening credits where «Dante» sews a Maltese cross onto his bare chest)

So if you know the book, you will enjoy the details and will hardly be disappointed with the deviations mentioned.

So if you loved GoW but didn't have a PS3, buy Dante's Inferno on the Xbox360, it's more or less the same, GoW with more tits, so to speak : shining: : tits:

"Dravens Tales from the Crypt" has been enchanting for over 15 years with a tasteless mixture of humor, serious journalism - for current events and unbalanced reporting in the press politics - and zombies, garnished with lots of art, entertainment and punk rock. Draven has turned his hobby into a popular brand that cannot be classified.

My blog was never designed to spread news, let alone get political, but with current affairs I just can't help but capture information here that is otherwise censored on all other channels. I am aware that the design page may not seem "serious" to many in this regard, but I will not change this to please the "mainstream". Anyone who is open to non-state-compliant information sees the content and not the packaging. I've tried enough to provide people with information over the last 2 years, but quickly noticed that it never matters how it's "packaged", but what the other person's attitude towards it is. I don't want to put honey on anyone's mouth to meet expectations in any way, so I'll keep this design because hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop making these political statements, because it's not my goal to go on like this forever ;) I leave it up to everyone how they deal with it. However, you are welcome to simply copy and distribute the content, my blog has always been under the WTFPL license.

It's hard for me to describe what I'm actually doing here, DravensTales has become a culture blog, music blog, shock blog, tech blog, horror blog, fun blog, a blog about found items on the internet, internet bizarre, trash blog, art blog, water heater, zeitgeist blog over the years , Scrap blog and grab bag blog called. Everything that is right ... - and yet not. The main focus of the blog is contemporary art, in the broadest sense of the word.
