Finally, Universal Pictures puts an end to the rumors that have persisted since the release of «Curse of Chucky» and announces «Cult of Chucky» as the next installment in the cult series about the killer doll Chucky. Don Mancini, the creator of the series, gets to breathe life back into the little killer and let him hunt for new victims in Winnipeg, Canada. There are well-known series faces like Summer H. Howell (Curse of Chucky) or Tiffany actor Jennifer Tilly (in the meantime even in the form of a doll), while Brad Dourif lends his distinctive voice to the horror icon as usual, albeit only in the English version. In "Cult of Chucky" there is also a reunion with Chucky veteran Alex Vincent, who was represented in the first two parts of the series and is now celebrating his comeback. The focus of the sequel is again Fiona Dourif and her character Nica Piecre from "Curse of Chucky":
Nica Pierce has been in a mental hospital for the murder of her entire family for four years. A horrific act that is actually on the account of Chucky. But when her psychiatrist introduces a well-known doll to her therapy group as a new method, all of a sudden all hell breaks loose in the tranquil sanatorium, and Nica begins to wonder whether she has really gone mad. Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky's now grown-up archenemy, rushes to her aid. But to do this, he must first take on Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly), who is willing to do anything for the devilish doll.
Universal is not going to release it in cinemas this time and is releasing «Cult of Chucky» on DVD and Blu-ray for Halloween according to current plans...
