Nicholas Verso's feature film debut «Boys in the Trees» fits into his previous oeuvre thematically. The film revolves around young people, and outsiders in particular once again play an important role. The Australian previously shot a few short films and was involved in various TV series. Boys in the Trees is set on Halloween, 1997. It's the last night of high school for Corey (Toby Wallace), Jango (Justin Holborow) and their skate gang, the Gromits. Childhood is over and the world of adults awaits. However, Corey's past still has unfinished business for him. When he meets his childhood friend Jonah (Gulliver McGrath), who is suffering from Jango's atrocities, he accompanies him home out of pity and for the sake of old times. The walk evolves into a surreal inner journey as they share ghost stories, and Corey realizes just how much he still has in common with Jonah. The spooky night threatens to wash even the most hidden truths to the surface. It is not yet known if and when the film will be released in cinemas...
Most of all, you feel struck by the truth that you wanted to hide from yourself.
