Both Duncan Jones and Justin Kurzel are capable directors who can finally lift the video game film genre out of the Uwe Boll section of video stores and bring high-quality adaptations to the screen. Above all, I'm hoping for a visual feast from "Assassin's Creed," as cinematographer Adam Arkapaw (True Detective) is working with Kurzel again. And what you can see in the trailer is convincing...

Not everything really fits, but otherwise everything looks very promising and the cast is also impressive for a video game film. The costumes, the setting, the action – everything is very close to the core elements of the game series. Unfortunately the cinema release won't be until January 2017...
