Who invented it? Exactly, the Swiss. At "expenser» Thrash Metal of a more contemporary kind is hip, the Swiss were not only produced by their compatriot VO Pulver, but also significantly influenced by his work with «GurD». But also various Swedish acts, which have a penchant for the Bay Area, seem to be running on the turntables of the five musicians in constant rotation, above all "The Haunted". So the Swiss have not (re)invented thrash metal, but the good old heaviness with little musical cherry on top and the irrepressible joy of playing make it «expenser» to experience international class. Clever and witty metal from Switzerland in a fantastic artwork! «expenser» have sold their souls to Thrash Metal and that's a good thing!

Expenzer - Kill The Conductor

From the ashes of Pigskin's, the remaining boys got to work in spring 2014 and so "Expenzer" crept into the light! The band has already shared the stage with genre greats like Kreator, Vader and Satyricon, who still mean the world. The thrash quintet from the Swiss seven consists of Renato Burkhard (guitars), Pieric Grosjean (guitars), Reto Bachmann (drums), Gregor Luther (bass) and Tom Kapeller (vocals) and brings Bay Area into the modern age. But friends of sophisticated Death Metal will also get their money's worth, especially those who like it playful, because "Expenzer" can do a lot with their instruments and prove it by incorporating some progressive and Death elements without appearing overloaded.

Expenzer band

With "Kill The Conductor" eleven songs thrash our brains out. Every song is well thought out and actually «Kill The Conductor» is a Thrash Metal album, but a lot is processed on it. Sometimes you are served vulgarly and get a kick in the ass á la «Pantera» or «Machine Head», only to switch to the modern and start thundering like «The Haunted» in its best times. The technology and the riffs of bands like "Testament" or "Exodus" always find buyers in Europe and "Expenzer" also use them there without stealing. A bit of "Slayer" shouldn't be missing here and there and the part is also very boldly produced. «Kill The Conductor» was recorded, mixed and mastered by VO Pulver at Little Creek Studio in Gelterkinden. The label "Czar of Bullets" throws it on the market and can be more than satisfied, because this mixture of sevens really bangs, doesn't sound like 08/15 and is more than just fun.

Musically, nothing goes wrong with «Kill The Conducator», on the contrary, demolition is the order of the day! Considering that the band has only been around for a short time, they are already acting on a very high technical and compositional level. The riffs smash beautifully and the uptempo parts bang with vigor. After the opener «Bitter End», the title track is a tip that I would like to highlight here. With «Play for the Deaf» comes a very varied track and in my opinion probably one of the best songs from «Kill the Conductor». In "Unicorn" the guitar with the great solos and the very technical robot vocal effect stands out musically. Cool idea to stand out from the crowd, but still expandable I would think. There is also a video for «Light Speed Heart Beat» that you should definitely check out below. With "Silence of the Amps" there is an extremely melodic song that has everything a wrecking ball needs: groove, speed, melody and a really fat vocal performance that serves the song. A song that you want to skip right back in order to hear it again. As a bouncer, the previously mentioned «The Haunted» with the cover song «Chasm» is honored.

«Kill The Conductor» is definitely a cool Thrash-Groove Metal disc, kept very straight, without much digression into the mid-tempo area. This sometimes has the consequence that a creative lull sets in towards the end of the record, which the quintet knows how to compensate for with flawless songs and a constant fire of riff violence. It's also cool that «Expenzer» doesn't really subordinate itself to classic thrash, but rather looks for the song. The song defines the means and not the other way around. What you're looking for is the hit potential, because despite the melodic moments you can't make out any catchy tunes. The eleven Thrash shells are good in terms of composition, but there are still a number of vibes that can be developed. As a debut, however, you can proudly pat yourself on the back, because the constant changes between melody, groove and pithy Thrash attacks are good and drill into your ear canal. So there is certainly still some room for improvement, but as a first performance «Kill The Conductor» is very good and we can be excited to see what the future will bring! If you like "The Haunted" and don't particularly welcome the recent career of the veterans, you will find a reliable substitute drug in "Expenzer" or "Kill The Conductor"!

"Dravens Tales from the Crypt" has been enchanting for over 15 years with a tasteless mixture of humor, serious journalism - for current events and unbalanced reporting in the press politics - and zombies, garnished with lots of art, entertainment and punk rock. Draven has turned his hobby into a popular brand that cannot be classified.

My blog was never designed to spread news, let alone get political, but with current affairs I just can't help but capture information here that is otherwise censored on all other channels. I am aware that the design page may not seem "serious" to many in this regard, but I will not change this to please the "mainstream". Anyone who is open to non-state-compliant information sees the content and not the packaging. I've tried enough to provide people with information over the last 2 years, but quickly noticed that it never matters how it's "packaged", but what the other person's attitude towards it is. I don't want to put honey on anyone's mouth to meet expectations in any way, so I'll keep this design because hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop making these political statements, because it's not my goal to go on like this forever ;) I leave it up to everyone how they deal with it.
