Herwig Scherabon generated 3D cities from visualized income distribution data. Here existing road systems and geography are traced, The maps of inequality are so far from New York, London and Chicago.
The images are abstract diagrams of these cities and show a high resolution matrix of blocks. The height of these blocks corresponds to the income in the respective output area. The resolution of the grid is smaller than the actual census tracts, in order to retain the visual footprint of the city’s street-grid.
