“The ABCs of Death” vereint 26 Horrorkurzfilme von so unterschiedlichen wie interessanten Filmemacher wie Ti West, Angela Bettis, Ben Wheatley, Yoshihiro Nishimura, Jake West oder Hélène Cattet. Der Trailer sieht extrem vielversprechend aus, enthält aber auch Szenen, die u.U. nicht im fertigen Film sein werden. Snip von Youtube:

Schicker Trailer zu ParaNorman von Studio Laika, die bereits bei Coraline gezaubert haben, dürfte ganz ganz toll werden. Plot Summary:
In “ParaNorman,” a small town comes under siege by zombies. Who can it call? Only misunderstood local boy Norman (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee), who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, he’ll have to take on ghosts, witches and, worst of all, moronic grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. Wie ich leider erst jetzt mitbekommen habe, verstarb am 3. November Hans Gerhard Franciskowsky auch oder vorallem bekannt als H. G. Francis im Alter von 75 Jahren nach langer Krankheit. Der Mann war vor allem für seine Hörspiele und als Autor von Perry Rhodan bekannt, seine Grusel-Hörspielreihe bei Europa hat meine Kindheit nicht nur ein bisschen geprägt, habe mir die Teile damals eigenhändig von meinem Taschengeld gekauft und gehört, was das Band hergab…

Neben seiner Arbeit bei Perry Rhodan wurde Francis auch als Autor vieler Hörspiele bekannt. So schrieb er unter verschiedenen Pseudonymen hunderte von Hörspielen für das Label Europa. Zu seinen bekanntesten Werken gehören Die Gruselserie und Commander Perkins. Er verfasste nicht nur Originalskripte zu Serien wie Masters of the Universe, sondern arbeitete auch zahlreiche Vorlagen zu Hörspielen um, etwa Die drei ???, TKKG sowie einige Folgen der Fünf Freunde. Für den Kiosk Verlag schrieb er die ersten Jan-Tenner-Folgen. Insgesamt verfasste Francis über 600 Hörspiele mit einer Gesamtauflage von 120 Millionen. Er erhielt für seine Hörspiele 120 Goldene Schallplatten und sechs Platin-Schallplatten.
Die Grusel Reihe kam mehrmals raus und war auch mit anderen Covern auf dem Markt erhältlich. Ich hatte damals wohl so ziemlich alle Folgen, wobei mir die Folge mit dem Weltraummonster, die Riesenameisen, “Draculas Insel, Kerker des Grauens” und die eine Werwolfstory mit zwei alten Damen, besonders gut gefallen haben. Auch das geniale Hörspiel “Die Insel der Zombies” gehört selbstverständlich zu meinen Favoriten und gibts für euch nachfolgend in der Gruft.
Schon strange, die unbekannten Helden unserer Kindheit: Hörspielautoren. Die Horror-Reihe war einfach episch. Schade, da ist ein ganz grosser von uns gegangen. R.I.P H. G. Francis!

Kees van Dijkhuizen hat eine grossartige Filmmontage von Tim Burton am Start. Sehr schön, aber “Planet of the Apes” wirkt in der Sammlung wie ein Fremdkörper…
